Feline Behaviourist

As anyone who has ever been around a cat for any length of time well knows, cats have enormous patience with the limitations of the humankind.

About Marjan

Marjan is a qualified (ADip FBM), certified, vet-referred cat behaviourist based in North London. She studied Feline Behaviour & Psychology at Compass Education and qualified with a distinction in December 2019. She is specialised in feline behaviour as cats are her passion and the species she is most in tune with. She’s fully insured and a certified member of ISAP (The International Society of Animal Professionals).

Services

Marjan strongly believes that to diagnose and deal with a behavioural issue effectively, a home visit needs to take place. It’s vital she meets the cat(s) and all family members as well as assess the environment the cat lives in and to observe interactions between the pets and their family.

For those reasons, she currently doesn’t offer online consultations for problem behaviours. When advice is needed where there are no behavioural issues such as for example the introduction of a new kitten/cat to the family, the advice can be given via email or over the phone at a cost to be determined on a case-by-case basis and no vet-clearance will be required.

Marjan’s services cover a wide range of cat behaviours, from unwanted spraying, aggression, to grooming issues. Head over to the Behaviour Problems page to see a full list of issues that she can help you with.

What clients say

We are incredibly grateful for Marjan’s help which we feel greatly contributed to the smooth integration of Errol. She made us feel a lot more confident and relaxed about the whole process. We knew what to expect which ensured we weren’t stressed even when some hissing and growling occurred at the start.

A big thanks to Marjan for her help and for making us feel like we could come to her for any behavioural issues with our cats and get very practical and sound advice. I certainly feel she has made us understand our cats and their needs and motives in a way we didn’t before!

If anyone has any issues with their cat and its behaviour, I can’t recommend this cat behavioural therapist enough. I have no connections to her at all, I was simply recommended by my vet when my two cats (brothers ) were having issues. They were incredibly anxious and were fighting all the time. Marjan helped us so much and I’m pleased to say they are very happy to be near each other and are completely relaxed with each other now. I was also given advice on toys and food – the play mat being a complete success. It was such a wonderful experience.

“Marjan was absolutely key to the recovery of the harmony of our home! She was so kind, non-judgemental, caring and thoughtful. A lot of people who work a lot with or know a lot about animals seem to actively dislike people, which is fair enough, but her role as an interpreter between humans and cats does require a lot of human empathy, which she has!

She spotted the problem right away and her diagnosis and plan made perfect sense. It would never have crossed my mind that that was the problem and we were quite right to seek her out as soon as we did. Although we were going to neuter Iris anyway, we may have delayed it and Mo may have wandered again before we had time to have it done.

I would be more than happy to act as a referee if she has any clients who want to speak to someone she has worked with.”
